The mission of the Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) is to educate and empower Arkansans about Medicare.
Our federally funded program connects Medicare beneficiaries, their families and caregivers with certified counselors statewide. These localized counselors provide one-to-one guidance about Medicare, Medicare Advantage, MEDIGAP, Medicare Part D (drug plans) and Long-term care insurance at no cost. Our partners perform a screening and examination to determine if a Medicare recipient would be eligible for a low-income extra help programs or other services, including out-of-pocket expense of Medicare and prescription drug costs. If not eligible they may initiate a plan review to discover other ways to save some money.
Our partners love what they do and it shows in their work and on their faces.
That’s right. We educate and train our partners to be certified counselors.
We can help you compare pricing and get enrolled in the right plans.
Arkansas SHIIP's team of statewide partners offer in-person or over-the-phone guidance and resources about your Medicare benefits. Our certified counselors perform a screening and examination to determine if you are eligible for low-income subsidy (LIS), extra help programs, and/or Medicare Savings Program (MSP) and will aid you through the application process. We have helped recipients save thousands of dollars annually on Medicare premiums and co-pays.
